PEGGY DE AZEVEDO

PEGGY DE AZEVEDO, Artistic Director of the Avenues Community Choir, is the co-founder and former director of Millennium Choir. Her history in the music and entertainment industry includes roles as producer, lyricist and musical director. Peggy worked as a musical supervisor and lyricist for the Animated Hero Classics series for Warner-Nest Entertainment. In addition, she was the musical supervisor for the animated films Swan Princess II and Swan Princess III for Warner Brothers, and for the animated Bible Stories home video series for Nest Entertainment. Peggy has produced a number of albums, including Gloria: The Life of Christ, Hosanna: The Life of Christ, Caroling, Caroling, Variations on a Sacred Theme I, and Variations on a Sacred Theme II, all for the Shadow Mountain label. Peggy was creative director and compiled the libretto for the videotaped concerts Gloria: The Life of Christ and Hosanna: The Life of Christ. The concerts were filmed in Jerusalem, featuring the Jerusalem Symphony, acclaimed soloists, the Millennium Choir, two Israeli choirs, and hosted by James Earl Jones. Peggy wrote and artistically directed Hymn to America, a multimedia production as a tribute to America following the events of 9/11. She continues to write lyrics including Songs of Lullaby, which was recorded in Prague by Liriel Domiciano on her album.

Kelly Parkinson

KELLY CLARK PARKINSON

KELLY CLARK PARKINSON, Assistant Artistic Director of the Avenues Community Choir, began her violin studies at the age of seven. She holds degrees in Music Performance from BYU and UCLA. She has performed as a soloist in the US, Canada, Europe and Israel. She was a three-time Salute to Youth winner with the Utah Symphony. While living away from Utah she played in The New Orleans Philharmonic and the Pacific Symphony. Throughout her career, Kelly has collaborated with numerous great ensembles and recording artists, including The Ballet West Chamber Orchestra, the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and pianist Grant Johannessen. In addition, Kelly has been a studio musician in both Los Angeles and Utah. Most recently, Kelly released her CD and book of unaccompanied violin arrangements, How Sweet the Sound. Kelly recently collaborated with pianist Jed Moss to record music by Utah composers Crawford Gates and Robert Cundick.
